COERR Mae Hong Son Organized Christmas Celebration for Refugees

   Throughout the year, pastoral care activities have been organized for faithful refugees in both Ban Mai Nai Soi and Ban Mae Surin camp, Mae Hong Son Province. Catechism, singing, reading the bible, cerebrating Mass in church, etc., were regular activities organized.

   In December, Christmas festivals were celebrated in both camps. Mass were cerebrated in Church. Then, ceremonies for merry were held such as Men group’s Traditional Sword Dance, Women group’s Traditional Dance, Youth Performance, lottery drawing for prizes and then exchange of presents among participants. These ceremonies were organized at St. Mary’s Church in Ban Mai Nai Soi camp on 28 December 2017 and at the Sacred Heart’s Church in Ban Mae Surin camp on 1 January 2018, with the total of 420 participants. The festival was also the opportunities for youth and adult refugees to meet and take part in the activities that unite them together with love and joy so that they can understand each other and strengthen their relationship through activities and experience sharing during the holy ceremony of the year.
